An ACTS retreat is a three-day retreat led by Catholic clergy, certified spiritual companions, and those who have attended prior ACTS retreats. Men present men’s retreats and women present women’s retreats.
The goal of the retreat is to inspire spiritual renewal and strengthened faith while providing an opportunity to create lasting and supporting friendships. Participants return to their communities with a deeper sense of connection to God and to each other, and a desire to live their faith more fully every day.
Activities during the retreat are organized around the themes of Adoration, Community, Theology and Service, from which the ACTS program acronym is derived.
Adoration – A response to God's love through prayer and worship
Community – Participating in the One Body of Christ as Church
Theology – The study of God through scripture
Service – Answering the call to discipleship by following the model He gave us
The ACTS program was developed by ACTS Missions – Texas and the San Antonio Archdiocese. The program started in 1987 and is now used by parishes in over 50 dioceses in 6 countries.
ACTS Canada started in 2010 and over forty retreats have been held across 10 parishes.
